How to pay PTPTN loans with several ways

by - January 29, 2018

Hello readers, as I've officially graduated for about 2 months and it's now month of January in the blink of an eye, I ought to be responsible to pay for my PTPTN loans. Therefore, I spared some time to read and understand about the guidelines given on PTPTN official website, so that I can share it to each and everyone of you if you would like to figure out the steps of paying PTPTN loans easily like me.

According to education part -PTPTN repayment in Budget 2018, there are several incentives to be extended until Dec 2018:
  • 20% discount - FULL payment of loan
  • 10% discount - 50% of payment of loan
  • 10% discount - Payment via salary cuts or direct debit according to schedule
EXTRA:
The grace period given for the settlement of loans has been extended to 12 months after their studies have ended, which means we can pay it after one year of graduation. I think it's quite good for those who like to further their studies after degree as there is probably no stable income or salary as a student.

So let's get started to know more about the ways to pay PTPTN loans ! There are several ways stated as below:

FIRST METHOD: Pay through FPX system on PTPTN portal

  • Insert IC no and check
  • Login the portal with IC no and password
If you have forgotten your password, kindly reset your password and new password will be sent to your email that is used to register PTPTN account before.

After you log in, kindly click 'Penyata Baki' on your Profile which is on left hand side.
  • Pay via FPX system
You can insert the amount that you want to pay on 'JUMLAH BAYARAN' and click 'BAYAR' via FPX system. If you would like to pay with another way that is not with FPX, you may click the link on the bottom part.

SECOND METHOD: Pay through bank portal

  • Log in your bank account no with username and password.
  • Select 'Education & Education loans' and select 'PTPTN'.

  • There are four steps actually and afterwards you need to fill in the amount of loan that you are going to pay and also some details like IC no and contact no.
  • It's just like simple online transfer, your transaction would be successful after you fill in the TAC no that you receive from phone.

THIRD METHOD: Direct Debit (Make sure you use latest version of Firefox to apply)

  • Click 'Mohon Direct Debit Pinjaman'

  • Insert IC no and check

  • Login the portal with IC no and password
If you have forgotten your password, kindly reset your password and new password will be sent to your email that is used to register PTPTN account before.

After you log in, kindly click 'Penyata Baki' on your Profile which is on left hand side.
  • Click 'Pendaftan untuk Direct Debit'

  • It shows the minimum amount that you have to pay monthly and you can fill in the same amount or more than that.
  • Afterwards, you need to pay RM1 for deposit to apply. The application of direct debit is actually free of charge but the application of working day is 3 days. You will receive RM1 back once your application is successful.
  • The amount that you fill in will be automatically deducted each month after your bank account and bank details are accessed to be verified.

You'll receive the email of notification and receive a text msg to inform that the amount of loan has been deducted.

FORTH METHOD: Pay through JomPAY on bank portal

For the method that is introduced by PTPTN official website, JomPAY, I think it's actually quite complicated and it may take some time.

  • Go to PTPTN official website: https://www.ptptn.gov.my/web/guest/anjung
  • Click icon of 'Semakan Jom Pay'
  • Insert IC no and check
  • It will show 'PINJAMAN UJRAH' and there are some references of JomPAY, which are Biller Code, Ref-1 and Ref-2 (your contact no).
I did not print screen due to privacy matter that may cause some inconveniences. You have to jot them down as they are very important for transaction of money. I tried with Maybank2u but it showed temporarily unavailable for the transaction so I'm not sure whether JomPAY is still available to access or not.

To pay it constantly and to have the 10% discount, I've applied the Direct Debit through PTPTN official website and the application is still in process (3 working days). You can choose to pay minimum amount of debt each month or more than that and RM200 will be paid monthly by rounding off the decimal places of RM192++ something with my own financial ability. RM200 x 10% = RM20/month to be discounted by government, which means RM20 x 12 months = RM240 as yearly rebate.

Be grateful that most of us were provided with PTPTN loan for our expenses in university and also with the flat interest rate of only 1% p.a only to pay the debts after graduation. Encouraging fresh graduates to pay for the loans to ensure the continuous benefits offering to others who really need for it in future !

That's all for the sharing, I hope this article is helpful for fresh graduates like me ! 💗
